Our Story
We founded Hedge School Cooperative after being approached by frustrated students and parents about the current educational system. We choose to respond to their concerns by reimagining together what a true learning community, which inspires a life long love of learning, could look like.

We are an inclusive, secular microschool cooperative reimagining education and instilling a lifelong love of learning.

Hedge School Cooperative is located in the central Texas Hill Country and reflects the vibrant energy of our area. Our passionate and skilled team members are here to help students achieve their goals.
How do we do it?
Our Educational Model
We believe that our learners know their educational needs best. Therefore we give them freedom to approach their studies as they choose.
Our educational model is based on a non-hierarchical approach to learning with three components, guided seminars/discussions, autonomous learning, and creative application.
Our seminars are multivoiced, with our seminar facilitator providing guided discussion and source materials. All seminar participants examine the source materials and enter into "critical discussions."
The autonomous learning phase is an opportunity for self-guided learning pursuits of the topic at hand.
Our creative application phase is an expression of what our student has learned on the topic, typically taking the form of a multimedia presentation.
