The Hedge School Cooperative was founded in January of 2021, by Dr. Catherine "Erin" Flynn, who dreamt of creating a school filled with creativity, learning, and acceptance, that encourages students to be involved in their own education and to embrace their independence and individuality.
The Oracle was founded in April/May of 2022, by students Lillian "Achillies" Heath and Byron Lopez Ellington, who hope to continue spreading the message that Dr. Flynn founded her school on, along with the newspaper's own. The Oracle wishes to give an insight into what Hedge looks like on an everyday basis, to help potential students and their parents decide if Hedge is right for them. The Co-Founders want to get students more involved in a positive way and help show the creativity that makes the Hedge School unique, along with keeping students, parents, and their communities up to date with what is happening at and with the Co-op. And due to the spirituality of one of our Co-Founders, you may also expect frequent Tarot readings for students, staff, and more.
The Hedge School Oracle wants to share the creativity, creations, and lives of its student, teacher, and parent bodies! We hope to do this by giving students, parents, and other community members the opportunity to submit their art, school, and personal projects, photography, poems, writings, etc, to the Oracle for us to publish.

Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief:
Lillian "Achillies" Heath is a sophomore at the Hedge School. She is Dr. Flynn's teacher's assistant and intends to pursue a career in teaching college history courses. Lillian is an experienced writer and artist and is known for her enthusiastic -- if often pessimistic and sarcastic -- views in the classroom. She takes an especial interest in ancient mythologies and societies, specifically Greek and Egyptian.
Co-Founder and Managing Editor:
Byron López Ellington is a senior at the Hedge School. He is the Founder and Editor of Rulerless and will soon be Co-Editor at the upcoming Beached Whale Review. A poet and aspiring novelist, he has had several short pieces published in various literary magazines, including Alebrijes Review and warning lines. You can find his work at byronlopezellington.com.

Sufyan has absolutely no idea how to write biographies about himself in the third person. He is a freshman at the Hedge School, and he enjoys playing video games, reading, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends. He also makes music and streams on Twitch.
